It might be small, but it ain't short of gear.
Like any Paj, you'll find a low-range transfer case, turbocharged four-cylinder engine and excellent ground clearance.
Mitsubishi are not sell-outs.
If it applies the legendary Pajero nameplate to a vehicle, it always makes sure it’s something both capable and worthy of the badge.
This one here is the Pajero Mini – the smallest of the set – but arguably the most fun. It technically falls into the Kei car category, which means it’s small, light and agile.
It’s still powered by a 660cc engine; but unusually a four-cylinder and turbocharged one. Nearly every-other Kei car rocks a three-banger, so Mitsubishi again decided that maybe four swinging conrods are more appropriate than three in this application.
It has decent approach angles and a short-wheelbase too, meaning it’s bodywork is designed with off-road in mind.
It’s authentic, cheap to run and own, and still new enough to have parts and panels readily available.
Why not share this with your kids, partner, or mates?
The car pictured – 2008 Mitsubishi Pajero Mini Exceed
This Mitsubishi Pajero was built in November 2008 and is an ‘VR’ trim level.
That means it’s powered by a 660cc turbocharged ‘4A30T’ turbo four-cylinder engine with 47kW of power and 88Nm of torque. The vehicle is primarily rear-wheel drive, with a selectable four-wheel drive mode in either high or low-range.
As a VR model it gets remote central locking, rear roof spoiler, dual airbags, upmarket cloth interior trim and air conditioning. Extra on this car include a genuine set of 16-inch OZ Racing wheel, optional red mud flaps, and a catback exhaust.
Having travelled 91,428km from new, it presents in well-above average condition inside, outside and underneath. This car came from Nagoya and not seen action in the colder parts of Japan.
It’s been service by our workshop and is ready to go!
