Our small-yet-potent team are ‘car nerds’ in the truest sense. Our emotional connection to cars unites us, and we love motoring in all forms, from Kei trucks to track Porsches.
Justin & Katherine own the place and love cars as much as they love each other. Justin was a product planning manager who imported tens of thousands of examples commercially for Subaru, Kia, Audi and Peugeot. He later became a senior journalist driving cars for Australia’s biggest media company.
Katherine holds two university degrees and held professional jobs before turning her hand to her passion. She has also road tested hundreds of new vehicles alongside Justin and often contributed to yarns for the Herald, caradvice.com.au, and drive.com.au.
Ryan Carter is our third full-time staff member who comes with a 20+ year career in the government sector. Rising to the top of his field, he has replaced the boardroom and command centre with our workshop, where he shares our passion for cars.
Last but not least is Dave, Justin’s father, a qualified mechanic with over 40 years’ experience in both dealership and self-employed environments. He is old-school and can fix anything.
The four of us love cars and have owned over 300 different vehicles between us. We have a proven track record of identifying future classics that are slept on but eventually increase in value.
Cult and Classic is the culmination of our professional and personal automotive careers, and it’s a dream come true being able to service the local car community with our international vehicle finding, importing, and buying services.
Brand mantras
Like or loathe it, every brand needs a vision. A North Star. Something to aspire to and hold us accountable for the products and services we offer the car community.
We believe in:
- Democracy. It doesn’t matter whether your budget is $15,000 or $1,500,000 – we treat everyone the same, and you’re all welcome.
- The youth. All of us are parents and believe young drivers need looking after. It’s why we always keep a cool, sub-$20K and P-plate-friendly vehicle in stock at all times. Cool cars need not cost the world, and we all start our journey somewhere.
- Transparency. Our fee structure is simple and straight-forward across all services we offer: Find it, Comply it and Buy it. We also price our ‘Buy it’ showroom cars sharply to avoid wasting time with fruitless negotiations.
