Like the Land Cruiser, the Suzuki Jimny's reputation is the stuff of legend

Off-road, on-road, or just looking cool, it's the car we all want in our garage.

Since 1970, the Suzuki Jimny has dominated the world’s toughest terrains.

The humble Suzuki Jimny has been used extensively by the national defence forces of the subcontinent and in Australia’s toughest rural and agricultural conditions, tackling it all.

Similar to Toyota’s renowned Land Cruiser, the Suzuki Jimny is steeped in legend and has gained immense popularity.

In Australia, the Suzuki Jimny was sold with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, making it technically a ‘Jimny Sierra’ model.

That means over in Japan, they sell the same car with a different bumper and no fender flares, eponymously titled Suzuki Jimny. It features a rorty 660cc R06A turbocharged three-cylinder engine and offers similar levels of torque at 500 rpm earlier in the rev range.

The Japanese flagship models, such as this one, also include more features than Australian-delivered examples, with keyless entry and push-button start, heated front seats and full LED headlights.

It’s a hoot to row its gears, and this factory turbocharged Suzuki Jimny offers excellent tunability potential in case you want to turn up the wick.

Our Suzuki Jimny was built in November 2019 and is an ‘XL’ trim level finished in ‘Chiffon ivory’.

That makes it a high-spec model in the range with heated seats, keyless entry + start, full LED headlights, digital climate control, and more. It’s powered by a steadfast ‘R06A’ 660cc turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 47kW/100Nm.

It was purchased from USS Tokyo as a grade 4.5B vehicle in above-average condition. It features a five-speed manual transmission, 4×4 and a low-range transfer case. Standard equipment includes hill descent control, automatic electric windows, LED fog lights and airbags.

Options include sweet Suzuki alloy wheels, a Suzuki heritage grille, Suzuki rubber floor mats, Suzuki seat covers and climate control. Its original stereo offers Bluetooth connectivity and USB phone charging.

This one-owner car comes with its original owner’s manual and Japanese export certificate confirming its mileage. Optional extras like an Australian stereo with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available in-store.
