A near new, top-spec and space-cab version of Japan's most-popular kei truck
Standard kit includes keyless entry and start, automatic LED headlights, auto emergency braking + more
The Daihatsu Hijet is the best-selling kei truck in Japan.
It’s been a best-seller continuously for over 50 years, so it’s no stranger to being excellent. It is a nifty and compact ute with a drop-side tray that measures up at 1.70 metres long by 1.40 metres wide.
It’ll happily do motorway speeds, too. This example features LED headlights, smart key entry and Advanced Driver Assist systems (ADAS) like parking sensors and auto emergency braking. On the outside, you’ll find a small bulkhead extension which allows slim lengths of up to 1.90 metres to fit in the tray.
All of our Daihatsu Hijets come with federal-based vehicle compliance that enables them to be road registered in any state in Australia. This one also comes with three months of NSW rego.
The 660cc three-cylinder engine is located in the middle of the vehicle in a longitudinal fashion, which creates a fantastic and ergonomic cab-over design. When the vehicle is not locked to 4×4, it is rear-wheel drive.
Huge amounts of steering lock result in a fantastic turning circle of 3.6 metres, and your forward-facing vantage point makes it easy to place the truck in tight confines or around tracks on your property or job site.

This Daihatsu Hijet Jumbo is a top-spec ‘Extra’ model built in October 2024. It’s powered by a 660cc three-cylinder ‘KF’ engine that’s built by Toyota and known to go the distance. It features an automatic transmission with selectable 4×4 (otherwise RWD).
As a top-spec ‘Extra’ model, it gets smart keyless entry and start, auto emergency braking forward and reversing, automatic LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, dual airbags, air conditioning, power windows, overhead storage and ABS. It comes with three keys, a log book and owner’s manual.
Optional extras include side edge protectors, rubber floor mats, a rear tray mat, a Japanese double-DIN stereo with Bluetooth connectivity and 14-inch alloy wheels. We can change its stereo to an Australian item with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto for an extra cost.
This vehicle is close to new new and presents that way. We hold a wide selection of spares for kei trucks, and have a service and repair network that extends from the Central Coast to the Southern Highlands.
