The Daihatsu Hijet is the best-selling kei truck in Japan.
It’s been a best-seller continuously for over 50-years, so it’s no stranger to being good. Although pricier and slightly heavier than a competitive Suzuki Carry, it is more pleasant to drive overall.
It’ll happily sit at 110km/h on the freeway. This one is a brand-new 2024 build finished in arguably the best colour, Khaki. It features 4×4, a low-range transfer case + rear diff lock and also benefits from Advanced Driver Assist systems (ADAS) like autonomous emergency braking.
Other standard features include keyless entry & start, power windows, dual airbags and parking sensors at both ends. It is a nifty and compact ute with dimensions of 3.39-metres long by 1.47-metres wide.The Hijet Jumbo’s drop-side tray measures up at 1.40-metres by 1.70-metres and will carry around 350kg safely.
All of our Daihatsu Hijets come with certification and federal-based vehicle compliance which enables them to be road registered in any state in Australia. This one also comes with three-months NSW rego.
The 660cc three-cylinder engine is located in the middle of the vehicle in a longitudinal fashion which creates a fantastic and ergonomic cab-over design. When the vehicle is not locked to 4×4, it is rear-wheel drive.
Huge amounts of steering lock result in a fantastic turning circle of 3.6-metres, and your forward-facing vantage point makes it easy to place in truck tight confides or around tracks on your property or job site.

This Daihatsu Hijet Jumbo was built in June 2024 and is finished in the optional extra colour ‘Khaki’.
It’s powered by a 660cc three-cylinder ‘KF’ engine that’s proven to go the distance – even under duress. It features a five-speed manual transmission with selectable 4×4 (otherwise RWD), low-range transfer case and rear differential lock.
As a top-spec ‘Extra’ model, it gets smart keyless entry and start, auto emergency braking forward and reversing, automatic LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, dual airbags, air conditioning, power windows, overhead storage and ABS. Factory extras include genuine tray-edge protectors.
This vehicle is brand new, so it literally presents as new. We also keep a wide parts holding of spares for repairs as well, and have a service and repair network that extends from Sydney to the Southern Highlands.
