The Daihatsu Hijet is the best-selling kei truck in Japan.
It’s been a best-seller continuously for over 50 years, so it’s no stranger to being excellent. Although it’s slightly heavier than a competitive Suzuki Carry kei truck, it is more pleasant to drive overall.
And with this example being near-new, it benefits from Advanced Driver Assist systems (ADAS) like front & parking sensors plus auto emergency braking. It is a nifty and compact ute with dimensions of 3.39 metres long by 1.47 metres wide.
The Hijet single cab’s drop-side tray measures up at 1.40 metres by 2.05 metres and will carry around 350 kg safely. This example is also fitted with tray edge protectors.
Its smart 4WD system has two modes – auto and lock. Its interior is made from hearty vinyl which is easy to wipe down.

This Daihatsu Hijet was built in September 2022 and is finished in Ice Green. It was purchased from USS Tokyo as a owner-owner vehicle with just 232km on the clock.
It’s powered by a 660cc three-cylinder ‘KF’ engine that’s proven to go the distance – even under duress. It features an automatic transmission with selectable 4×4 (otherwise RWD).
Standard features include auto emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, ABS, traction control, air conditioning and dual airbags. Factory extras include genuine tray-edge protectors, window visors and rubber floor mats.
