A near-new example of the most-popular kei truck in Japan
Standard features include low-speed auto emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors and dual air bags
The Daihatsu Hijet is the best-selling kei truck in Japan.
It’s been a best-seller continuously for over 50-years, so it’s no stranger to being good. Although pricier and slightly heavier than a competitive Suzuki Carry, it is more pleasant to drive overall.
And with this example being near-new, it benefits from Advanced Driver Assist systems (ADAS) like auto emergency braking. It is a nifty and compact ute with dimensions of 3.39-metres long by 1.47-metres wide.
The Hijet single cab’s drop-side tray measures up at 1.40-metres by 2.05-metres and will carry around 350kg safely. This example is also fitted with tray edge protectors.
All of our Daihatsu Hijets come with certification and federal-based vehicle compliance which enables them to be road registered in any state in Australia.
The 660cc three-cylinder engine is located in the middle of the vehicle in a longitudinal fashion which creates a fantastic and ergonomic cab-over design. When the vehicle is not locked to 4×4, it is rear-wheel drive.
Huge amounts of steering lock result in a fantastic turning circle of 3.6-metres, and your forward-facing vantage point makes it easy to place in truck tight confides or around tracks on your property or job site.
The car pictured – 2022 Daihatsu Hijet 4×4
This Daihatsu Hijet was built in February 2022 and is finished in metallic silver.
It’s powered by a 660cc three-cylinder ‘KF’ engine that’s proven to go the distance – even under duress. It features a five-speed manual transmission with selectable 4×4 (otherwise RWD), low-range transfer case and rear differential lock.
Standard features include auto emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, air conditioning, dual air bags and ABS. Factory extras include a genuine tray-edge protectors.
The tray is like new and this vehicle could be considered a demonstrator. The interior presents as new and features rubber floor mats. Other small details include a rear exterior light mounted on the rear window guard and exterior weather shields.
We also keep a wide parts holding of spares for repairs as well, and have a service and repair network that extends from Sydney to the Southern Highlands.
We hand-pick each and every car in Japan after carefully inspecting them in the metal. We pride ourselves on corrosion free, high-quality and low owner/low kilometre examples.
