Where the Toyota Corolla hatch has a woeful boot, this one has space for days

And we reckon wagons look better than sedans, too.

The 12th-generation Toyota Corolla is an awesome car.

It’s underpinned by Toyota’s latest TNGA global vehicle architecture, which means it gets the latest technology and world-class powertrains. This example is powered by a 1.8-litre four-cylinder hybrid that’ll achieve a fuel efficiency figure of around 5.0-litres per every 100km travelled.

The suspension and chassis tune are more dynamic than you think too, with good damping control and a lower centre of gravity making it nice to drive on a country road.

As a world-market car, its infotainment system and digital gauge cluster reads in English. It features a nine-inch digital gauge cluster, seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay + Android Auto, Bluetooth + USB phone connectivity, keyless entry & start plus half-leather seats.

Advanced driver assist systems include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, full LED headlights with auto high beam assist, autonomous emergency braking plus a rear-view camera.

The best part is the boot, however. Where there regular 2019 Toyota Corolla hatch makes do with 217 litres of boot space, this Toyota Corolla Touring features 392 litres to play with.

It’s nearly double the size and means you could fit your furry friend, help your mate’s move house, or just be able to take both kid’s bikes to the park in one trip.

This Toyota Corolla Touring was built in November 2019 and is a ‘wXb’ trim level.

That means it’s a top-of-the-range model powered by a 1.8-litre Toyota hybrid engine. It reduces fuel economy and powers the vehicle with pure-electric drive at low speeds.

As a ‘wXb’ model, it features a half-leather trim, a digital instrument cluster plus Apple CarPlay + Android Auto phone integration. The vehicle’s infotainment and gauge cluster both read in English.

This example was purchased as a private vehicle from USS Nagoya (Japanese auction house) as a grade 4.0B vehicle. It presents in great condition and has been recently serviced by our workshop.

It comes with two keys, a Japanese export certificate with kilometre verification, Japanese service history and all Australian compliance paperwork.
