The Toyota Corolla Fielder hybrid is a compact, safe and fuel-efficient wagon

This top-spec example's 'Cool Bordeaux Glass Flake' paint also makes it pop

The Toyota Corolla Fielder hybrid makes lots of sense for metro commuters.

Its 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain – shared with the Toyota Prius C – is frugal in stop-start traffic. It’s decently proportioned, but still narrower than a typical SUV of the same era.

That makes parallel parks outside your favourite haunt are far easier. Compared to an SUV, it also rocks a lower centre of gravity, which leading to a more positive driving experience.

You also get a bigger boot when compared to a similar size SUV too. Toyota Hybrids are renown for their bulletproof reliability, and the 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain in this car is the same one found in an Australian-market Toyota Prius C.

It means parts and servicing are both easily sorted locally. On top of offering better practicality than a hatchback on steriods, we personally think wagons can look better too – especially when specified right like this car.

Its optional exterior colour – called ‘Cool Bordeaux Glass Flake’ – offers a deep pearlescent tone in direct sunlight. This example is also a top-spec Corolla Fielder ‘wXb’ model with keyless entry, LED headlights with automatic high beam assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking (city – low speed) and rear parking sensors.

The car pictured – 2015 Toyota Corolla Fielder wXb Hybrid

Our Toyota Corolla Fielder Hybrid was built in may 2015 and is a ‘wXb’ trim level.

That means it’s a top-of-the-range model powered by a 1.5-litre Toyota hybrid engine. It’s the same driveline used in the Toyota Prius that reduces fuel economy and also powers the vehicle with pure-electric drive at low speeds.

As a ‘wXb’ model, it features keyless entry and start, LED headlights with automatic high beam assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking (city – low speed) and rear parking sensors.

This example was purchased as a private vehicle from USS Nagoya as a grade 4.5B vehicle. It is wholly original without repair.
