The 2014 Toyota Corolla hybrid Aerotourer is the ideal family wagon for 2023.
Compared to an SUV it offers a lower centre of gravity and a more positive driving experience. You also get a bigger boot and a larger second row of seating when compared to an SUV too – courtesy of the extended wheelbase of the Corolla Fielder platform.
Toyota Hybrids are renown for their bulletproof reliability, and the 1.5-litre hybrid driveline in this car is shared with the Australian-market Toyota Prius. It means parts and servicing are readily available locally, so don’t stress there.
On top of offering better practicality, we personally think wagons can look better than SUVs – especially when specified right like this car.

Our Toyota Corolla Fielder was built in January 2014 and is a ‘Hybrid G Aerotourer’ trim level.
That means it’s powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a Toyota hybrid system that reduces fuel economy and can power the vehicle with pure-EV drive at low speeds.
Aerotourer also means just what you think it does – a factory-fitted body kit and sports suspension! It features a lowered ride height, front spoiler, performance front grille, side skirts, rear bumper lip and rear roof spoiler as well!
And just to ice the cake, this Aerotourer was also finished in the rare shade of deep purple metallic. Inside, you’ll find a racy black Ultrasuede interior, carbon-look interior inlays, and smart keyless entry and start.
On top of being configured as a cool-looking wagon, we also fitted a genuine set of SSR wheels just because we thought it deserved them.
