Ask any car enthusiast out there: naturally aspirated engines sound better

and few play a melody the Toyota's five-litre and Yamaha-tuned V8

We all love naturally aspirated V8 engines.

The main drawcard is a clean powerband that radiates vigour. With the introduction of turbocharged engines, many high-performance V8 engines lost their distinctive sound and charisma. Held back by exhaust-driven turbochargers at the start of their pipes, the turbocharged V8 – despite sharing the same cylinder count – sounds and drives like a totally different engine.

Where turbo engines serve it up early and prematurely, naturally aspirated V8s fizz with a broad spectrum of power delivery. They ask for more, love being spun, and don’t leave you feeling short-changed or unsatisfied.

The 5.0-litre ‘2UR’ Yamaha-engineered V8 in the RC F is an absolute peach. The sound of its chunky V8 engine is unmistakable and cements why naturally aspirated sports cars are destined to become prized and sought-after.

Throw in some bulletproof Toyota reliability, and the RC F becomes a long-term partner that will stroke both your emotional and your rational for as long as you let it.
