With its 5.0-litre, naturally-aspirated and Yamaha tuned V8 engine...
The Lexus RC-F is ageing like a fine wine
With every progression that technology ushers in, there are some regressions too.
With the advent of turbocharging, many V8 engines lost their voices. Stymied by exhaust-driven turbines, the turbocharged V8 – despite sharing the same cylinder count – feels and sounds like a different engine.
Where turbo V8s feel lazy, naturally aspirated V8s feel bright and willing. They feature a broad spectrum of power delivery, with more linear performance offered and greater aural pleasure when pressed to the redline.
Naturally aspirated V8s feature an induction-heavy and ferocious soundtrack. The unmistakable sound of a high-revving V8 engine cements the Lexus RC F as the quintessential tough sports car.
Mix in some bulletproof Toyota reliability, and the RC F strokes both your emotional and your rational sides. Given there were only 2536 examples delivered new to Australia, it’s also a rare machine too.
The car pictured – 2014 Lexus RC F
This Lexus RC F was built in October 2014 and was unusually configured in White Tricoat with a black and orange leather interior, black carbon twill inlays and a Torsen limited-slip differential.
It was purchased from a USS Tokyo as grade 4.5B vehicle that’s had two owners from new vehicle. The car is wholly original and has never been repaired or modified before. Its exterior presents in excellent condition and features no major marks or defects. Its wheels are still original and are not damaged.
On the inside, the same story applies. The interior platics presents as new and the steering wheel does not feature any defects from rings or sharp objects. The only blemish on the interior can be seen on the driver’s seat bolster, which is expected with its age and use.
It’s powered by the legendary ‘2UR’ 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine that produces 351 kilowatts and 530 Nm (newton metres) of torque. Power is worked through an eight-speed automatic and sent exclusively to the back wheels. The Lexus RC F is equipped with a Torsen limited-slip differential – making it enjoyable to drive on the limit and the choice for a driving enthusiast.
Its second row of seating features ISOFIX mounting points designed to securely attach child seats in vehicles. Standard features include heated and cooled sports seats with electric adjustment and two position memory, a heated steering wheel climate control, cruise control, keyless entry and start, Bluetooth connectivity, and more.
It features a its original Lexus manuals and three keys. The advertised price includes three months of NSW registration, a comprehensive vehicle service, and a new set of high-quality tyres.
