With its huge 309kW / 550Nm twin-turbo V8, this all-paw wagon is a true sleeper
And with its extensive factory option list, it's one for the discerning shopper
Audi are the kings of four-wheel drive.
The brand pioneered it throughout the 1980s in Group B rally with its fire-breathing Quattro coupe. It’s because of this motorsport titan that Audi went on to implement sophisticated all-wheel drive systems with truckloads of mechanical grip across its entire model range.
From using fluid-coupling Haldex systems in its Audi S3, through to mechanical centre-diff setups as seen in this Audi S6 Avant, the brand applies four-wheel drive systems everywhere.
And with this much power, you’d probably need it too. Under the bonnet lies Audi’s ferocious 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. This engine is a powerhouse that was also used in the top-dog Audi RS 6 and RS 7 models too. It has a short inlet track, water-to-air intercoolers, and is responsive, to say the least.
It produces a massive 309 kilowatts/550 Newton meters of torque and sends it all through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. It goes from 0-100 km/h in around 4.5 seconds, will appease your better half, and also fit the crap that follows you around in life.
You can’t ask for more.
The car pictured – 2013 Audi S6 Avant
This Audi S6 Avant was built in May 2013 and delivered new by a Audi Japan via a Tokyo main dealer.
The vehicle was configured with the following optional extras: Black Nappa leather interior trim with diamond stitching, heated & electric front seats with adjustable lumbar support, carbon interior inlays, four-zone climate control, rear heated seats, BOSE premium audio, Matrix LED headlights, a panoramic glass sunroof and silver finish 19-inch alloy wheels.
There are service stickers placed around the car that confirms it has had regular maintenance. Upon its arrival into Australia, we fitted new front brake rotors, new brake pads and replaced its engine oil and filter. The car presents in above average condition and has evidently been garaged for the majority of its life.
It is wholly original, free from repair and free from corrosion. On the inside, you’ll find handy features like rear sun blinds in its doors and rear air vents. The boot is a massive 565 litres of boot space, or room for two large suitcases, two carry ons and a pair of backpacks. You will struggle to fill it!

The combination of the torquey twin-turbo V-8 with a longer wheelbase, less front weight bias, and less overall mass makes the new S6 more of a driver’s car than its predecessorJens Meiners, Car & Driver, May 9, 2012
