A recipe for success starts with Toyota's best rear-wheel drive platform and its fuel-sipping hybrid tech
As a top-spec G package, this one has all the fruit
The 2010 Toyota Crown is the automotive equivalent of a Swiss army knife.
It’s an extremely versatile vehicle, delivering plenty of power to the right (rear) wheels and boasting more features than your friend’s BMW or Mercedes-Benz. This example has heated and air-conditioned front seats, heated rear seats, electric front seats with two-position memory, electric rear seats, a rear electric sun blind, adaptive cruise control and a rear-view camera.
It’s also a hybrid model that connects a 218kW/368Nm 3.5-litre V6 engine to a driveline with electrical assistance. The combined power output feels like more than the paper figures suggest, and you can expect a fuel consumption figure around the 5L/100km range.
It offers both speed and fuel efficiency at the same time. The front end employs a double-wishbone setup for optimal control, while the rear end boasts a precise multi-link rear suspension that surpasses the performance of American and European metal.
You can’t argue against it, except for the fact it looks a bit like a Toyota Camry.

This Toyota Crown Athlete was built in June 2010 and was purchased from USS Tokyo (Japan) as a 4.0B grade vehicle. The vehicle was a one-owner example and comes with a Toyota service history from new.
The car is wholly original with no accidents repairs or repaints. It’s interior is in above average condition and the car has never been smoked inside of. The vehicle came from a dry and warmer section of Japan, so the underside looks like an Australian car.
Standard features include front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, electric front seats, electric rear seats, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, soft-close doors, rear-view parking camera and automatic headlights. Its factory touchscreen infotainment system can be upgraded to support Apple CarPlay / Android Auto by our workshop.
The vehicle has been well maintained and was recently serviced by our workshop. The ‘2GR’ Toyota engine used in this vehicle was used in other local Australian Toyota models, so parts are readily available. We also keep a stock holding of genuine Toyota and aftermarket parts like oil/air filters, spark plugs + more.
Either way, our workshop can assist with maintenance and parts.
