A fast family SUV with a six-speed manual, 200 kilowatts, and the surety of permanent all-wheel drive.

The Subaru Forester STI is the anorak's choice as it combined speed, practicality and versatility into one big blue rally-inspired package.

The 2006 Subaru Forester STI is a cult car by definition.

It was one of the first contemporary SUV style vehicles, and also one of the first to feature a performance-inspired driveline as well.

So much so that by the second generation, Subaru’s own performance arm – Subaru Technica International or STI – got their mitts on it and painted it blue.

They also strengthened the chassis and gave it Brembo brakes, too. Basically, they created the first true performance SUV, and one that features the heart and soul of World Rally too.

About the car pictured – 2006 Subaru Forester STI

This example had covered 65,000 from new and was factory ordered in World Rally Blue metallic.

Other factory options include a STI performance aero kit, STI performance suspension, STI performance suspension tower bars and STI Defi interior gauges.

A HKS cat-back exhaust was the only modification other than a set of upgraded Endless brake pads and sticker Yokohama rubber. This vehicle was a personal import from Japan and imported by its second Japanese owner who purchased it from the president of Gunma Subaru STI club.

He bought it new. We purchased it early in 2018 shortly after assisting its arrival into the country and placed into our collection for approximately 16 months. It sold to a Subaru collector in Victoria.
