A humble Toyota Corolla factory-fitted with a 200-kilowatt 3.5-litre V6 engine.
It's had one-owner from new and travelled just 27,900km!
Yes – Toyota unbelievably fitted its 3.5-litre ‘2GR’ V6 engine into the humble Corolla.
It’s the same engine most-famously seen in the Toyota Crown, Toyota Mark X, Toyota Aurion, and others. Called the Toyota Blade Master, it was a niche product that was sold exclusively in Japan over a three-year period from 2007 until 2009. In that time, Toyota only managed to sell 2,880 examples of its Blade Master, making it quite a rare car from what is the largest car brand in the world.
And of that 2,880 cars it produced, only 159 examples were ever finished in “Wine” pearl red. It’s an unusual colour that goes from a rich and vibrant red to light purple in direct sun and on an angle. On top of being an extremely rare colour, this one was specified new with black Alcanara interior and has covered just 27,900 kilometres since rolling off the showroom floor!
It was purchased out of Japan as a one-owner car and reflects that way in terms of condition and also how it drives. The six-speed auto features paddle-shifters to entice the driver, and on a sweeping back road the old Blade isn’t a bad thing to have at your side.
Toyota beefed up the suspension and brakes to handle the extra potency – just stick your head under the back and take a look at the upgraded levels of rear-axle adjustment it has. As a flagship product in the range, the Toyota Blade Master was naturally well-appointed too, with adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, electric seats, cabin air ionizer and automatic climate control offered across the range.
The car pictured – 2008 Toyota Blade Master V6
Our Toyota Blade was built in March 2008 and is a ‘Master’ trim level.
That means it’s powered by a 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated V6 engine dubbed ‘2GR-Fe’ with 206kW of power and 344Nm of torque. Our car is a one-owner example that has covered just 27,900 kilometres from new!
It comes with a great service history, two keys (one still unused and wrapped in plastic!), and a genuine boot protector. It has been serviced by our workshop with genuine parts and had its engine oil, filter, and brake fluid replaced.
The only imperfections are a pair of small marks on either side of the rear bumper, and one small and shallow car parking dent on the passenger side door.
