The Nissan S14 is revered as one of the 90s best sports cars

and this one was a true survivor with low mileage and in a rare configuration

This car was sold off-market before it could be listed because our rolodex often consumes many of the cars we find.

However, it is worth sharing its story. In Australia, Nissan sold a total of 3,950 new examples of its sweet turbocharged sports car, with only 240 finished in ‘LS1 – Shiraz metallic’.

It has been left mostly original and has been rarely used since. Most examples meet their maker as grassroots motorsport vehicles; examples left in such condition are rare.

The car pictured – 1998 Nissan 200SX Sports

This Nissan 200SX is an Australian-delivered ‘Sports’ model that was built in January 1998.

It was sold new by Main North Nissan in South Australia and later sold to another custodian in Sydney, New South Wales. The car is largely original aside from its front bumper, which has been previously repainted due to vanity reasons.

Its mileage is original and the car looks and drives as you’d expect – like new!

Quick facts

  • 1998 Nissan 200SX Sports

  • Shiraz metallic – one of 240 delivered new to Aus

Not only is the Silvia visually stimulating, it delivers on road too. It’ll stay with a WRX through the tight stuff and is only fractionally slower in a straight line.
