This is the second Tommy Kaira ZZ we've found & imported into Australia

It is a lightweight & bespoke road-going race car made famous by Gran Turismo 2

If you’re into driving, the Tommy Kaira ZZ is motoring nirvana.

It is a featherweight road-going race car that was developed by a Japanese engineer who cut his teeth in Europe with the best of the best.

Weighing less than 700 kg, it is powered by a mid-mounted Nissan SR20DE engine and clad in a glorious fibreglass body.

Made famous by the Gran Turismo PlayStation game franchise, fewer than 200 were ever made in real life. Given the nature of this vehicle, many have been destroyed, raced or ruined.

This example was a certified one-owner car that had survived the perils of motorsport. It is the second example we’ve found & imported into Australia.

This Tommy Kaira ZZ was built in May 1997. It was sourced from a Japanese car auction as a certified one-owner vehicle.

If you know about this car, it's probably from Gran Turismo. It's one of many obscure cars in the game, a tiny, frog-eyed sports car from a tuning brand not well known outside its native Japan. But this is not some oddball Kei car, it's one of the most compelling sports cars to come from the country.
