If you like an old car that looks like new, here you go
It's undergone a comprehensive repaint in original colours to the highest standard.
Mitsubishi is not a sellout.
If the brand applies its legendary Pajero nameplate to a vehicle, it always makes sure it’s on a 4×4 that’s both capable and worthy.
The Pajero Junior, the rarest of the set, is arguably the most desirable. The Pajero Junior is a beefed-up version of the kei-class Pajero Mini.
Similar to the Jimny Sierra, the Pajero Junior is a widebody model. It means that the Pajero Junior did not qualify for low-cost kei class registration in Japan, which prohibited sales when new.
That makes it rare today. This example was oddly owned by a Japanese municipality from the outset, making you its first private owner.
We gave it a birthday and treated it to a comprehensive repaint in Australia. During the process, all of its hanging panels, all of its glass, and its factory fender flares were removed.
The repaint was conducted to very exacting standards and it now looks like new.
The car pictured – 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero Junior ZR-2 4×4
This Mitsubishi Pajero Junior was built in March 1997 and is an ‘ZR-2’ trim level.
That means it’s powered by a 1-1-litre turbocharged ‘4A31’ four-cylinder engine with 59kW of power and 100Nm of torque. The vehicle is primarily rear-wheel drive, with a selectable four-wheel drive mode in either high or low-range, and features a five-speed manual transmission.
It was purchased as a one-owner vehicle from Nagoya, Japan. It was noted as being a “Government Official” car and had been solely owned by a Japanese municipality from new.
As a Zr-2 model it receives air conditioning, power windows, remote central locking, a front corner mirror, a driver’s side airbag, four-wheel ABS brakes, contrasting cloth interior trim and a CD player.
We had our trusted paint shop conduct a exterior restoration on the car to the highest standards, so it now looks like new. The interior is in good condition for its age, too.
