The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car icon that needs no introduction.
This one is a little unusual for a few reasons. Firstly, it is an official General Motors product made in Bowling Green, Kentucky, for Japan, a right-hand drive market.
Despite remaining LHD like all C5s were, this special model was made from the factory with metric (KM/H) gauges, RHD-orientated headlights, orange indicator lenses, and plenty of other world-market-specific parts.
On top of being right for Australia, this example was finished in ’23U – Nassau blue’. A rare and sweet blue that only ever graced 3000-odd examples in the first three years of production, it is a great colour that still looks fresh today.
The C5 Corvette is a visually striking piece that makes all the right noises, making it the ideal weekend warrior.

Built in February 2000, this Chevrolet Corvette is a fifth-generation C5 Coupe. It features a removable roof panel – a targa – that can be stowed in the boot.
It’s powered by a 5.7-litre ‘LS1’ V8 engine with 257 kW / 474 Nm and features a four-speed automatic transmission. It was delivered to Japan via Yanase as an official General Motors product that was built in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
It was purchased from the Japanese auction network as a Grade 4.0B example with no accident or repair history. It comes with an export certificate confirming its mileage and some logbook service history from new.
The car presents in excellent & original condition. The exterior still wears its original paint and there are no major damage or scratches. The interior has aged well too, with minor seat wear on the driver’s side being the worst of it.
Upon arriving in Australia, the vehicle was serviced with new filters, fluids and oils. Its removable targa roof is in great condition and can be stowed away in the boot.
Factory spec includes a optional adaptive suspension, power steering, climate control, power windows, electric seats with driver’s-side memory, traction control system, a removable targa roof and more.
