Some cars age gracefully, especially when outside of a warranty period

Unlike its competitors, the Lexus RC F is robust and a glutton for punishment

We all love naturally aspirated V8 engines.

It’s why cars like the BMW E90 M3, the Mercedes-Benz W204 C63 AMG, and the Lexus RC F are ageing like fine wines.

There are some you’d rather own than others. Both Benz and BMW suffer from rather gnarly and terminal issues – things like conrod bearings and head bolts – that make ownership dubious.

Like all things, eventually economics comes into play. The Lexus RC F suffers from no form of terminal issue and, if anything, remains robust and reliable well past 200,000 km. This example is equipped with a Torsen LSD, which means it spins both.

The engine is a star, too. It’s a 5.0-litre ‘2UR’ Yamaha-engineered V8 that has a chunky sound and peaky rev-band, the hallmarks of a sweet, naturally aspirated engine. It’s those hallmarks that cement why naturally aspirated sports cars like the Lexus RC F are starting to become prized and sought-after.

Throw in some bulletproof Toyota reliability, and the RC F becomes a long-term partner that will stroke both your emotions and your rationality for as long as you let it.

The car pictured – 2014 Lexus RC F

This Lexus RC F was built in Octonber 2014. It was configured in pearl white with an optional black and orange leather interior and black carbon fibre inlays.

It’s powered by the legendary ‘2UR’ 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine that produces 351 kilowatts and 530 Nm torque. Power is worked through an eight-speed automatic and sent exclusively to the back wheels. The Lexus RC F is equipped from the factory with a Torsen Limited slip differential making it the choice for a discerning driver.

Its second row of seating features ISOFIX mounting points for child seats. Standard features include heated & cooled electric leather seats, climate control, cruise control, keyless entry & start, Bluetooth connectivity and more. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto smartphone connectivity can be fitted to this vehicle for an extra cost.

This example was purchased from a dealership in Tokyo, Japan, and is an accident- and rust-free example.  The car remains in original condition and has never been modified or repaired before.

The price advertised includes three months of NSW registration and a comprehensive vehicle service.
