Performance wagons are something we all lust for

And Mercedes-AMG served a winner with its E43

The Mercedes-AMG E43 gets it right.

Whilst a stonking twin-turbo V8 would be great, the E63 drinks more than a sailor. Instead, the E43 uses a potent bi-turbo V6 that uses significantly less fuel yet still produces a hearty 295 kilowatts / 520 newton-metres.

It’s enough horsepower to have plenty of fun, and the diligently selected spread of nine forward gears further enhances its pace. The exterior styling is simple yet effective, and the cabin is filled with practical luxuries, including an impressive 3D Burmester sound system, air-conditioned seats made with high-quality leather, acres of genuine carbon fibre, and more.

It’s relatively affordable to own compared to the V8 model, looks the part and features things that a daily driver needs.

You can’t really ask for more as someone looking for space, performance and luxury, which makes it just right.

This Mercedes-AMG E-Class is an E43 station wagon model built in May 2017 and delivered new to Japan officially. It was finished in white with a black interior trim and carbon fibre interior inlays.

It’s powered by Merc’s ‘276M30’ 3.0-litre Biturbo V6 petrol engine that produces 295 kilowatts / 520 newton-metres. It also benefits from MB’s 4MATIC four-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic.

Optional extras include a Burmester 3D surround sound system, a heads-up display and genuine 20-inch alloy wheels. Standard features include heated and cooled seats with massage function, an electric tailgate, adaptive cruise control, dynamic air suspension, front and rear parking sensors, automatic braking, lane keeping assist, a 360-view parking camera & more.

It was purchased as a one-owner vehicle from USS Tokyo with an auction grade of 4.5B. It comes with a detailed service history, two keys, and an $11,000 Capristo valved exhaust that integrates with the original Mercedes-AMG drive mode functions (sport, normal, etc.).

Its second row of seating features ISOFIX mounting points designed to securely attach child seats in vehicles. The vehicle will be serviced upon arriving in Australia, given a comprehensive once-over before sale, and sold with NSW registration.
