A near-new example of the most-popular kei truck in Japan

Standard features include front and rear parking sensors, low-speed auto emergency braking and dual air bags

This example of Japan’s best-selling kei truck – the Daihatsu Hijet – is badged as a Subaru.

In Japan, a lot of brands share vehicle platforms to promote domestic manufacturing. That means you can buy a Subaru-badged Daihatsu Hijet like you see here, and even a Nissan-badged Suzuki Carry too.

This version of Daihatsu Hijet – the S510 series – has been a best-seller continuously for over 50-years, so it’s no stranger to being good. Compared to a Suzuki Carry, it offers lower noise-vibration an harshness (NVH) and its cabin is largely a nicer place to be.

And with this example being new, it benefits from Advanced Driver Assist systems (ADAS) like front and rear parking sensors alongside auto emergency braking. It is a nifty and compact ute with dimensions of 3.39-metres long by 1.47-metres wide.

This single cab model’s drop-side tray measures up at 1.40-metres by 2.05-metres and will carry around 350kg safely. This example is also fitted with genuine whether shields.

All of our kei trucks come with certification and federal-based vehicle compliance which enables them to be road registered in any state in Australia.

Huge amounts of steering lock result in a fantastic turning circle of 3.6-metres, and your forward-facing vantage point makes it easy to place in truck tight confides or around tracks on your property or job site.

The car pictured – 2024 Subaru Sambar TB 4×4

This Subaru Sambar Grand Cab was built in April 2024 and is a single-cab ‘TB’ model with 4×4.

It’s powered by the steadfast 660cc three-cylinder Toyota ‘KF’ engine. This example features a five-speed manual and selectable 4×4.

As a ‘TB’ model, it benefits from front and rear parking sensors, auto emergency braking (city – low speed), automatic headlights, dual airbags, traction control, air conditioning and three cup holders.

It was purchased from USS Nagoya as a Grade 6A ‘as new’ vehicle. Factory extras include genuine weather shields. The vehicle is brand-new, so it presents that way. It still features some plastic on its interior, so the new owner can take great satisfaction in removing it as its first private owner.

If you’re after bull bars, upgraded wheels and tyres or even a factory double-DIN stereo conversion with Australian Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, we offer all these services in-house.

We also keep a wide parts holding of spares for repairs as well, and have a service and repair network that extends from Sydney to the Southern Highlands.

We hand-pick each and every car in Japan after carefully inspecting them in the metal. This example comes with two keys and all of its original new car collateral.
