If you've always wanted a turbocharged kei truck, now's your time
It features a complete KTV turbo kit including an Greddy E-Manage ECU
We all want a turbocharged kei truck.
That’s why this one is from our own personal stash. Having played a role in the business as our promotion vehicle we use around the shop, it is now time for it to find a new owner.
It features a complete KTV turbo kit. KTV are kei-truck experts in Japan and made a wide range of upgrade parts for new and old kei trucks. The kit consists of a small Japanese-made turbocharger, a cheeky side-mount intercooler, associated plumbing sans BOV, plus a kit-specific Greddy E-Manage ECU.
This example also features over $3,000 worth of genuine Defi gauges (rev counter, boost gauge, water temp, oil temp and oil pressure) as well as an engine oil cooler.
We fitted the genuine Hayashi racing streets in 15-inch for the perfect look. We love this truck, as it makes all the right sounds and has enough torque to make it fun.
The car pictured – 2017 Daihatsu Hijet Jumbo turbo
This Daihatsu Hijet Jumbo is an ‘Extra’ model and was built in April 2017. It is finished in the classic colour of ‘white’.
It’s powered by a 660cc three-cylinder ‘KF’ engine that’s built by Toyota and known to go the distance. It features a five-speed manual transmission and is two-wheel drive. It has been upgraded with a KTV turbo kit, a genuine Defi five-gauge array with records and peak recall, an engine oil cooler, and genuine 15-inch Hayashi Street wheels.
As a top-spec ‘Extra’ model, it gets power windows, remote central locking, a double-DIN stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, dual airbags, air conditioning, overhead storage and ABS. It comes with two keys and some Japanese service history.
Overall, the vehicle presents in above-average condition. The front bumper has been cut for an air duct, but that’s as ugly as it gets. The rest of the exterior and interior are in excellent shape.
