The Suzuki Carry is a Japanese kei truck that’s been offered in various forms all over the world for over 50-years.
The current generation – codenamed ‘DA16T’ – is still sold new in Japan. It is a nifty and compact ute with exterior dimensions of 3.39-metres long by 1.47-metres wide.
It’s designed with great ground clearance and 4×4. A kerb weight of just 680kg means it uses bugger-all fuel and feels agile to drive. You’ll find it’s powerful enough to do stints on the freeway @ 110km/h.
The drop-side tray is 1.40-metres wide by 1.95-metres long and will carry around 400kg safely. All of our Suzuki Carrys come with federal-based certification that enables them to be road registered in any state in Australia.
The 660cc three-cylinder engine is located in the middle of the vehicle in a longitudinal fashion which creates a fantastic and ergonomic cab-over design. When the vehicle is not locked to 4×4, it is rear-wheel drive.
Huge amounts of steering lock result in a fantastic turning circle of 3.6-metres, and your forward-facing vantage point makes it easy to place in truck tight confides or up-and-around tracks on your property or job site.

This Suzuki Carry was built in December 2018 and was purchased from USS Tokyo (Japan) as a 4.5B grade vehicle. That means it’s in above average condition for its age.
The Lexus badge on the front was stuck on by a previous Japanese owner, so we left it for a laugh. It’s powered by a 660cc three-cylinder ‘R06A’ engine that’s renown for its reliability. This example features a traditional torque-converter automatic and selectable four-wheel drive.
Safety features include low-speed autonomous emergency braking, dual airbags, air conditioning, power steering and ABS. This example was also nicely optioned with power windows, remote central locking, front fog lights, tray-edge protectors and a new cargo liner.
Aftermarket extras include exterior weather shields, diamond-stitched seat covers (original seats are in great condition underneath), a centre arm rest and a double-din stereo.
The tray is in above average condition for its age, and its interior is in great condition. Neither show signs of being treated poorly. This truck comes with three-months NSW registration, associated Japanese paperwork, and Australian Federal compliance.
